GRANITE COLOURS
The different colours produced by these four minerals below alone produce many different colours when blended into granite. Add other minerals and loosely associated types of granite and you get a vast array of potential colours and patterns.
QUARTZ
Impurities in the rock at the time of formation cause the quartz crystal to produce different colours. Quartz can be coloured yellow, milky white, rose, brown to black, blue and purple.
FELDSPAR
Feldspar can be a glassy white, blue, green, pink or red crystal.
MICA
Mica can be clear, black, green, red, yellow, brown and purple.
HORNBLENDE
Hornblende is black, brown and green in colour.
